"...the exhilarating atmosphere of a European World of Bluegrass event. The interchange, both onstage and off, between European and US artists, and between both groups of artists and the many fans and amateur pickers who attend the events, is ultimately the best token of the European bluegrass world’s vitality."

EUROPEAN WORLD OF BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL INFORMATION

Every year in the “Worldwide Bluegrass Month” of May, 42 bands from the far corners of the globe gather to showcase at the annual European World of Bluegrass Festival in Voorthuizen, Holland. For 3 colorful days and nights, banjos, mandolins, guitars, dobros, fiddles, and basses blaze like tulips all over this tiny Dutch town, in and around the festival site, in the marketplace, in front of stores and restaurants. The month-long European World of Bluegrass (EWOB) 2008 boasted 195 independent European bluegrass events, spearheaded by the 3-day EWOB Festival in Holland.
