EWOB FESTIVAL BAND APPLICATION

Bands can apply from SEPTEMBER 20 – DECEMBER 1, 2010 to perform at the European World of Bluegrass Festival 2011 on June 2-3-4, 2011.
NO APPLICATIONS will be accepted after December 1st! Application info and forms for the next EWOB Festival will be posted on this page each year in September.

Please read the SELECTION CRITERIA to learn how bands are selected to showcase at EWOB.

HOW TO APPLY FOR YOUR BAND'S EWOB FESTIVAL SHOWCASE:

Your application - including all required materials sent by mail/post - must be postmarked by the December 1st deadline.

European World of Bluegrass (Application)
c/o SCR Productions
PO Box 628
2130 AP Hoofddorp
The Netherlands

MATERIALS REQUIRED BY MAIL/POST:

1) Print 1 (one) application form from the PDF to send by mail/ post to the European World of Bluegrass Festival at the address above. Download the printable PDF band application form here.

2) Include 4 (four) CDs or CDRs for the Program Committee.

a) In past years, 1 CD was enough; but with over 100 bands applying every year, it is no longer possible for us to copy your music for the Program Committee members.

b) All bands must send 4 CDs, even if you have played at EWOB many times. After band selection is complete, we will provide free radio distribution for you: your CDs will be used to promote your band and the EWOB Festival on European radio.

c) Emailed mp3s, websites, MySpace pages, YouTube videos, etc. cannot be accepted as EWOB Festival application demos. Please send 4 CDs (or CDRs) by mail/post. If you have more questions about demo format, please email Liz Meyer.

3) Your BAND BIO/ info. 1/4 to 1/2 page is enough. Please do not send a full press kit. Please include a list of all band members, plus their instruments and vocal info.
(NOTE: We would like to receive your bio both by email and on paper by mail/ post.)

MATERIALS REQUIRED BY EMAIL
should be sent to Liz Meyer.
IMPORTANT:
please include band name & contact info in every email!

1) Please fill out and send the form on the right side of this page. This is not the application form! It lets us know that you are sending an application package by mail/post, and is important if your package gets lost en route. You will receive more info by email about performing at EWOB.

2) A good photo of your band! A 300 dpi, hi-res (print quality) digital photo is fine.

3) Your BAND BIO/ info. 1/4 to 1/2 page is enough. Please do not send a full press kit. Please include a list of all band members, plus their instruments and vocal info, and email addresses for all band members if possible.
(NOTE: We would like to receive your bio both by email and on paper through the mail/ post.)

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO:

EWOB is both a festival and a professional music convention. Bands play an unpaid showcase attended by many promoters, agents, radio deejays, and music press, as well as a very enthusiastic audience.

European bands compete at EWOB for the European Bluegrass Band Awards! EWOB will help finance a trip to IBMA's World of Bluegrass convention in Nashville the following year for the winning band. Best of all, the winning bands are selected by the musicians playing at the EWOB Festival!

No band application fee (money) is required to apply for a European World of Bluegrass Festival showcase.

EWOB CDs: It is understood that when your band applies for a showcase at the EWOB Festival, you agree to allow Strictly Country Records to choose tracks from your performances for EWOB CDs and musical productions to help promote the EWOB Festival and your music.

BAND SELECTION AND CONFIRMATION: After the Program Committee completes its selection, your 4 CDs will be sent to radio hosts who play bluegrass and promote the EWOB Festival. EWOB helps get your music on the radio!

Bands selected to perform at the next European World of Bluegrass Festival will be notified in January. If your band is selected for an EWOB showcase, we will need your confirmation very quickly.
